Since MKsafety began to produce safety shoes, an independent safety testing laboratory was established, and all testing standards have been established in accordance with international standards. There is a set of international and domestic leading testing instruments and equipment, and there are currently as many as 100 test items, covering all indicators of the safety footwear industry.
ESD Anti-Static Test
This test measures the footwear's electrical resistance to confirm it safely dissipates electrostatic build-up. In settings where a stray spark can ignite flammable materials or damage sensitive electronics, anti-static soles channel static charge away from the body. The measurement must fall within a precise band — low enough to discharge static, yet high enough to protect the wearer from live current. MKsafety® verifies every anti-static model against this range, ensuring dependable, consistent protection across the whole production run.
Dielectric / Electric Hazard Test
A high voltage is applied to the sole to prove it insulates against electrical current. Electric-hazard footwear is built for workers who may step near live circuits or charged equipment, and this test confirms the outsole resists current flow under load to reduce the risk of shock. It is a critical safeguard for electricians, maintenance crews and anyone operating around energised systems, and it is repeated on production samples to guarantee the insulation holds up over time.
Bending / Flex Test
The shoe is flexed repeatedly at the ball of the foot to simulate millions of walking steps. This verifies that the sole, upper and toe cap stay intact and comfortable through long-term daily use, with no cracking, delamination or loss of protection. It is the test that proves a boot will not fail halfway through a shift, confirming lasting durability and all-day comfort for workers who stand and walk on hard surfaces for hours at a time.
Wet & Dry Slip Test
The outsole's coefficient of friction is measured on both wet and dry surfaces. Slip resistance is essential in kitchens, workshops and outdoor sites where floors become slick with water, oil or mud, so this test confirms the tread pattern and rubber compound deliver reliable grip in real working conditions. It helps prevent slips and falls, and it is checked across different floor types to reflect the varied environments our footwear is worn in.
Abrasion / Wear-Resistance Test
The outsole and upper materials are rubbed under controlled abrasion to measure how well they resist surface wear. Hard-wearing materials extend the service life of safety footwear and reduce replacement costs for buyers. This test confirms the sole and upper withstand scuffing, abrasion and gradual breakdown, so the shoes keep performing in demanding conditions without the tread smoothing out or the upper thinning prematurely.
Tear / Tensile Test
Force is applied to the upper and sole materials to measure their resistance to tearing. Strong, tear-resistant materials stop the footwear from splitting or opening under stress, which keeps the protective shell around the foot intact. This test verifies that the leather, textile and rubber components hold together under tension, ensuring the boot keeps its structure and protection through rough handling and long-term wear.
